Thai FDA Registration for Food, Supplements, Cosmetics & Medical Devices

Whose name is on the licence matters as much as getting it
We handle food registrations, cosmetic notifications and medical device licensing — classifying the product, preparing documents, checking labels, filing and answering the authority's questions. Because we are a law firm, we also settle in the contract with your manufacturer or importer who holds the licence, and what happens to the brand if you change partners.
What we cover
Food and dietary supplements
Food categories follow different routes: some need a food registration number, others only a compliant label. Supplements need a close check of ingredients and claims, because overstated claims are the most common reason for rejection, and advertising for some food types must be approved in advance.
Cosmetics
Cosmetics are notified rather than registered. The notifier can be the brand owner's Thai company, the importer or the manufacturer, and the notifier carries legal responsibility for the product. We check the formula against banned and restricted substances and review the Thai label before filing.
Medical devices
Medical devices are grouped by risk class, and each class follows a different licensing, listing or notification route. Importers must first register their establishment. We assemble the overseas manufacturer's documents — letters of authorisation, certificates of free sale and quality documents — so the file is complete the first time.
Imported products
An importer needs an import establishment licence before products can be filed, together with manufacturer documents certified in the country of origin. We handle the overseas paperwork and, where needed, setting up a Thai company or choosing the right importer.
Who should hold the licence
The licence sits in the name of the operator who files it. If a factory or importer holds it for you, changing partners becomes difficult. We draft manufacturing and distribution agreements that settle this, and recommend registering the trademark in the brand owner's name at the same time.
